Feeling the excitement of future superstars

Welcome boys to the DMCWORLD towers. Congratulations on smashing the top of The Buzz Charts with ‘Feel’ – life is pretty good yeah?

“Thank you! We are so happy with having a Number 1 in The Buzz Chart!! On top of that we have just come back from having an amazing time in Miami so we can’t complain!!”

Tell us about Miami week, what parties stood out?

“Miami week is always special, everyone is happy and just up for having a good time, perfect crowds to play to! The SIZE pool party at Fontainebleau was awesome, we also really enjoyed playing at the SHM afterparty at the Wall club, it was so packed and sweaty as everyone was raving hard!!”

What are the big tunes that came out of WMC, what was being played everywhere?

“Obviously ‘Greyhound’ was been played a lot which is another great track from SHM once again. Also ‘Troll’ by new Size recruits ‘Qulinez’ was played by a lot of DJs and is a real club banger.”

One of your pet hates is warm up DJs killing the crowd by pumping out every Beatport number one before you go on, was Miami any better?

“Yes, DJs in Miami especially know how to keep the crowd sexy and bouncing before a headline act come on!”

You’re both from Essex and met at school, when did the idea of forming a production/DJ duo begin?

“We made one track together out of chance and decided from then on that all we wanted to do was produce music to the best of our ability and never stop!”

Your first ever gig was at an 18th Birthday party in your home town, did you get paid?

“Yes but not a lot! lol It’s all about experience when you first start out, money is a bonus.”

What were the artists you were listening to growing up that pushed you dance music’s way?

“The first dance producers we listened to were people like Chris Lake, Mark Knight, Funkagenda but Calvin Harris was the first real person that made us want to make dance music. Then we got into all the Swede and Dutch guys and tried to create our own sound that mixed all of these together.”

If you hadn’t become musicians, what other careers were possibilities?

Jonnie – “A golfer”
Harry – “A cricket player.”

You have been playing around the world supporting Swedish House Mafia, can you explain what these gigs are like to people unlucky enough not to have been…it’s mass hysteria right?

“Yes, they are like a rock concert. People go absolutely nuts but it’s no surprise as they three guys bring so much energy that it’s impossible for people not to go crazy! If you having seen them yet you are missing out!”

You are back DJing in the UK in April, with a big gig up in Newcastle – how do the American and UK crowds differ?

“They are becoming more and more similar as time goes by because the American’s are now into house music as much as the UK. It’s hard to choose a favourite place to play now which is a good thing!”

What is your guilty pleasure song?

“Kanye West & Jay Z  – Ni**as in Paris”

Steve Angello told you once to concentrate on making big records first and foremost and then everything will fall into place – so what has the rest of 2012 release wise got in store for us all…

“We have some tracks in store that we are massively buzzed about! A couple that will be coming out on SIZE and a remix that will be getting released hopefully really soon.”

What is the finest record you have ever played to a dancefloor?

Jonnie –  “Swedish House Mafia – ‘Miami 2 Ibiza’.”
Harry –    Temper Trap – ‘Sweet Disposition’ (Axwell & Dirty South Remix).”

What are the festival plans for the summer – what are you looking forward to the most?

“The festival we are looking forward to most this year is Creamfields, last year was crazy so we can’t wait to do it all again!!”
