Trainspotting with Chroma

Australian producer Chroma makes his Unlearn debut with the searingly brilliant tech house two-tracker When You Need It / Crazy. Chroma (AU) is a DJ and producer residing in Perth, Western Australia. After performing at numerous local gigs within Perth, he started to produce his own electronic music in early 2022 with a vision to create music for the Australian club-scene. Although a relatively new talent in the industry, he has already started to develop a signature sound within his tracks which emphasise deep rolling baselines, dreamy synths and an infectious groove. DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Chroma.

Biscits – Wait A Minute –  Solotoko

The first time hearing this track honestly changed the way I viewed Tech House music. I listened to it on repeat a sickening amount of times whilst sending it to numerous friends. Absolute legendary track and still gets the dance floor going.

Piero Pirupa – We Don’t Need – Spinning Deep

I kind of don’t want to admit how many times I rinsed this track when it came out. I genuinely think this is one of the all time remixes of any track. It is an absolute banger and I still play it a lot in all of my sets.

John Summit & Guz – Thin Line – D4DANCE

A little different to the other track but this is an absolute banger. It’s produced so well and the first time I heard it I fell completely in love with it. The vocal and the production is amazing – absolute master class of production!

Chris Lake – Turn Off The Lights   – Blackbook

Chris Lake will forever be one of my favorite artists. He’s like a fine wine that just gets better and better with age. I love absolutely everything about this track. I mean this track still pops off whenever it’s played and that’s pretty rare in an industry that moves on from tracks so quickly.

Noizu & Westend – Push To Start – Insomniac

A relatively new song – but I think Noizu and Westend have just changed the scene for the next few months. So catchy, from the vocals, baseline and groove this track has you completely invested from start to finish!

Mau P – Drugs From Amsterdam – Repopulate Mars

Mau P is an absolute legend – this track is a banger. The baseline alone could make you dance all night. Include the groove, vocals and tension. I think we have a track that will get played for years to come. Massive inspiration of mine, and love his background story.

Joshwa & Lee Foss – My Humps – Repopulate Mars

Both these artists are absolute goats. Joshwa the up and comer and Lee the seasoned campaigner who just continues to get better. The groove of this track is insane paired with one of the best acapellas going around – has melted dance floors all around the world. Would absolutely love to make a track like this one day.

Dom Dolla – Pump The Breaks – Sweat It Out

Can’t go past fellow Australian Dom Dolla. He has been so good for the Australian music scene producing banger after banger – love all his stuff and find a way to include at least something he’s produced in most of my sets.

Airwold Paradise – Don’t Hurt Me Baby – Trick

Airwolf – another Australian producer. Absolutely love all of his stuff. Like Dom he has been fantastic for the Australian music scene and I think he’s just getting started. His production skills are incredible and having seen him a couple of times now – he is just as good on the decks.

Avicii – Levels – UMG

Will be one the all time greatest songs ever made for me. Everything about it I love and Avicii has been a huge inspiration of mine from day one. I don’t think there will ever be another artist like him. He honestly revolutionized dance music and I will never get sick of hearing this track.
