Trainspotting With Diephuis

Rotterdam’s Diephuis is well known for his atmospheric blends of deep, afro, techy and soulful house. He has since released on labels such as Atjazz Recording Company, Foliage Records, King Street, Quantize, Nervous, and Nulu, to name a few, as well as his own imprint Diephuis Records, launched in 2020. He has collaborated with artists including Jocelyn Brown, Ursula Rucker and Stephanie Cooke, among many, with his biggest release, ‘Hoye Mama’, with Eastar (Nulu Records), topping the Traxsource overall charts in 2018. As a DJ, Diephuis has played on line-ups together with big players such as Black Coffee, Louie & Anane Vega, David Morales, Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer and many more.  As his new Afro House collaboration, ‘Desert Sky’, with Aeres drops on his own label, DMCWorld goes Trainspotting with Diephuis.

1 Diephuis & Aeres – Desert Sky – Diephuis Records

I got new modules in my modular case and was playing with them and came up with an afro groovy bass driven demo. Nina Smit from BMG NL introduced Aeres to me and she came to my studio. She heard the demo and instantly wrote on it and we recorded her atmospheric vocal vibe. This is a nice way to have instant creativity and record and finish.

Omar always delivering and moving sounding vocals. Dave Lee always delivering quality soulful and disco tracks and remixes which I am supporting for a long time. Grant Nelson giving the track his piano house vibe sound. Can’t go wrong!

I like the blend of the percussive elements, the good sounding piano chords, the progressive vibes and vocal delivery. Deep One.
