This is the third and last part of a solo artist EP series from Field Records, presenting five tracks from the studio of Michel Isorinne. As the title implies this is blissful work, where sounds of weather, church bells and nature are just as much a part of the music as the simple but effective melodic sequences that slowly reveal themselves as each track progresses. ‘Terrestrial Measure’ has the poise of an Aphex Twin ambient track, while the extra elements through the field recordings ensure that headphone listeners are amply rewarded. ‘Blurred Perceptions of Substance’ promises thunder and rain but in reality gives a lovely backdrop to its slowly moving notes. A welcome musical detox with which to begin the new year.
