Some albums need a bit of time to fully spread their love around, and ‘Broadway’ is one of those. It’s the product of an East-West partnership, for E is from New Jersey and Myron Los Angeles. Both meet in the middle to offer a rewarding blend of soul and funk that as you can imagine works an absolute treat in the hot weather. One of the best tracks, ‘Do It Do It Disco’, is a real earworm, while the brassy but soulful ‘I Gave You My Love’ has a softer, more vulnerable centre. ‘Cold Game’, meanwhile, turns the clock back with its offbeat bustle. The duo make easy going, feel good music – but listen a bit closer and there is plenty of substance to enjoy in the songwriting, plenty of quality in the authentic production. Throw open the windows and make the most of it!
