It’s great to have a full length record from one of the masters of Scandinavian house music. Rather than write his own tracks, Todd Terje has tended to become known for applying his cosmic disco brush to the music of others – and ‘remasters of the universe’, cunningly named, groups together some of his finest efforts. The layered vocals of M’s ‘Pop Muzik’, the joyous piano of Chaz Jankel’s ‘Glad To Know You’ and the guitar hook extracted from Jose Gonzalez’ ‘Killing For Love’ all benefit from his studio magic, while other tracks mixed in from Felix Laband and Chuck Norris keep things chugging along nicely. A welcome sense of weirdness only adds to the pleasure, with a second unmixed CD providing more evidence of Terje and his knack with a good groove. A mandatory purchase for fans of Lindstrom and Prins Thomas – but really this is one for anybody who wants a sunkissed summer house vibe.
