Andy Buchan and Conan The Selector are behind the relatively fresh Hot Gorilla label and since starting out they have constantly delivered fresh gems with a large dose of Disco in them. Their fifth offering is no exception to that rule as label head Buchan serves up another funky nugget with ‘Voodoo Disco’. What I like about Andy Buchan generally, is the fact that his drums are very unique and not to be compared with other producers of the genre, which is of course nice and leads to a certain recognition factor. His Main Mix is a very groovy dubish Disco effort that flows nicely around a cool vocal snippet, funky guitars and a nice synth riff. Jet Boot Jack doesn’t change too much of the concept, just adding a more House orientated beat and two nice little breaks in between whilst Funk Edwards takes a Moroder esque direction with is beat and bass heavy version. All in all a good track with two solid remixes!
