Following an accident in 2003, Xtravaganza’s Alex Gold spent nearly eighteen months in rehabilitation. Well now he’s about to bounce back & make a rather large impact, if this album sampler is anything to go by. First up is the title cut ‘Back From A Break & (The Party’s On)’, starting off with hands in the air strings & guitar, then dropping to a filtered loop of ‘Just don’t stop, the party’s on’, then bang, in comes the break from Interspin’s ‘Breaking Into A Sweat’, & we’re off, firing on all cylinders. The rhythms of ‘Energy Bomb’ on the flip, have got a Leftfield feel to them, which brings ‘Inspection (Check One)’ to mind, driving through atmospheric floaty pads, that drift around the Goddess Of Energy. Both cuts have got a certain mid 90’s vibe about them which works a treat.
