Just seeing CamelPhat is enough for me to drop everything I am doing and head straight to the promo player. A sensational and varied EP here from one of the most powerful acts to emerge in recent years! These guys certainly don’t take themselves too seriously, except in the studio of course. There is no filler here and 3 fantastic cuts arrive just in time to kick off the new year! Personally, I am loving the very Doorsy ‘Lizard King’, obviously a tech house salute to the late Jim Morrison. Acen used these vocals in an early 90’s rave track called Close Your Eyes so it was instant hit with me for that alone! Moving on to more melodic pastures, ‘The System’ possesses huge crossover appeal with it’s warm textures, superb Deadmua5 / Prydz vibe and the final nail in the coffin for my favourite EP this month, if not the year!
