15 Years Of Paradise: 15 DJs Recap 15 Years
King Street Sounds

Launched in 1993 along with its sister imprint, Nitegrooves, King Street continues its exemplary tradition of releasing a veritable who’s who of contemporary dance greats to this day: Masters At Work, Roger Sanchez, David Morales, DJ Pierre, Kerri Chandler, Mood II Swing, Blaze, Urban Soul, Danny Tenaglia, Cevin FisherŠ have help make them one of the most respected labels in their field. My own association with King Street was equally fruitful, as a house producer they signed one of my early productions, ‘That Sound’, under the guise of Pump Friction, and we enjoyed a number one American Billboard Dance Chart hit in the fall of ’97. Today their sound covers everything from abstract Afro-jazz excursions and tech-edged progressive beats, to soaring diva house and wailing gospel vocals. And 15 years on this compilation recaps 15 of their greatest hits hand picked by 15 tastemakers of the house fraternity. Here’s to the next 15.
