The Balance philosophy has always been to concentrate on new and burgeoning talent. Step forward Luke Fair, a hot property in house music who shows why he is held in such high regard with two outstanding mixes. The first in particular is a treat, setting out at a slowish house tempo but keeping a deep, warm vibe through tracks like Hypnos’ ‘Red Light’, Mitsu’s ‘Serene’ and the superb closing couple from Nightriders and Tom Novy. Disc two gets up and at ’em much quicker, with more of a punch to the bass and beats, for which we thank Tom Middleton’s remix of Schwab’s ‘DJs In A Row’ , Subtech, Humate and Marnix. Superb stuff from a DJ well on the up.
