Very much a game of two halves – day and night, to be precise, with a touch of Ronaldinho, perhaps, on CD1, with the clinical finishing of Toni Rios Chris Wood in a German-themed mix of dark and driving house music on CD2. This includes a couple of obvious floor fillers in Booka Shade’s ‘Trespass 06’ and Carl Craig’s remix of Theo Parrish’s ‘Falling Up’, while moving its ass in a darkly funky fashion. CD1, mixed by Chakras head Djourney, is a breezy affair that meddles in bossa, samba and lush, string led items from the likes of Grassskirt. Matthew Herbert, the Gotan Project and Federico Aubele complete the exotic outlook. It helps to be broad minded to appreciate both CDs – but both have much going for them.
