Why change a good thing? That seems to be what Diynamic is thinking as they gear up for the fifth such outing in the Four to the Floor series, which is – almost naturally – another release that’s stuffed to the hilter with top-notch jams from the offset.
While it features many up-and-coming producers, the first of those to show up here is Butch, who sides up alongside Sebastien Hohberg for the excellent ‘’Losing Gravity’’. An almost weightless slice of canny techno, it gets us off to a flyer thanks to its many cosmic vibes especially.
Sevendoors’s ‘’Movement of Whale’’ is an aptly grandiose production – and one that’s evidently been made with the club in mind. Full of unusual motifs and unusual textures, it captures the imagination thanks to its refusal to bow down to any conventional practices. Andy Bros’ ‘’Vento’’, meanwhile, is the most tension-filled of the lot, while Several Definitons’ ‘’Everyday’’ sees out the package with a rugged, Innervision-esque trancey backdrop. If you like thought-provoking house music, then this one is sure to appeal.
