An obvious choice for Defected’s ITH series, which feels like it’s about three hundred issues long already! It’s also one of the best, though – Sinclar keeps things moving and dresses the vocal house template with rhythms from Africa and Brazil, including jazz inflections and some good, percussive numbers. The best tracks get that weekend euphoria nicely – Solveig’s ‘Jealousy’, Johnick’s ‘Play The World’, Louie Vega’s ‘V Gets Jazzy’. while a couple of classics surface from Nu Yorican Soul and Modern Romance. The only duff moment is Loco Dice’s ‘Phat Dope Shit’, sounding out of place in this company. Otherwise, a top pair from Sinclar.
