Stutgart’s Ali and Basti Schwarz celebrate a decade of electronic finery by launching their own Souvenir label with a retrospective of career highlights and CD of personal influences past and present. Entitled Blackmuzik, the latter includes gems dating back to Marianne Faithfull’s ‘Broken English’ through acid house [Osvaldo], classic techno [Ron Trent’s ‘Altered States’] and UK bleep by Warp’s Tuff Little Unit. 2007 is represented by towering floor-demolishers like Tristano’s ‘Strings Of Life’ and Ewan Pearson’s sky-spunking mix of Courtney Tidwell’s epic ‘Stars’. Also, Carl Craig sprinkles Recloose’s ‘Can I Take It’ and Masters At Work fondle Groove Box. The Remixed CD features the duo’s own electro-house landmarks like ‘Troubled Man’, ‘Ghostrack’, ‘Original’, ‘On Up’ and ‘Blow’ in original form then remixed by such as Ruede Hagelstein, Shonky, Samim, Kiki & Silversurfer and Radio Slave. Ten years is a long time in dance music and Tiefschwarz deserve to pop a few corks.
