Park Lane’s advantage when it comes to blissed out compilations is that they often choose the less obvious tracks for their horizontal reclining. So it is here, with disc one incorporating some classy tracks from Modeselektor, Trentemoller, Craig Armstrong’s Winona outfit and the Cinematic Orchestra. While these ones are slow, with some lovely whooshes of sound, the second CD adds a bit more urgency to the rhythm with Deep Dive Corp’s ‘Shine’, Boca 45’s ‘Crime De La Creme’ and Lord Skywave’s interesting style clash ‘Half Forgotten’. Meanwhile the decision to end with Tindersticks’ ‘Running Wild’, here in an extended instrumental version, is inspired.
