Various
Death Before Distemper Vol.3 Mixed By The Idjut Boys
DC Recordings

A Japanese only release, this, but if you can somehow find a copy online you’d be strongly urged to seek it out. The Idjut Boys can be relied upon to put a groove in pretty much everything they come in to contact with, and on this CD they’ve been given carte blanche to mix, mash and edit the tracks in any way they see fit. By the time their edit of Depth Charge’s ‘Blue Lipps’ comes up things are fully up and running in the funk department, and they capitalise on this with further edits of Big Two Hundred, The Emperor Machine’s ‘Lift Up Chong And See’, The Depth Charge mix of The Oscillation’s ‘Head Hang Low’ and Tom Tyler’s ‘Daylight Robbed Her’. With the boys’ trademark grooves and humour present, there’s no reason to fight shy of this one – and hopefully DC can be persuaded to make it generally available in the UK.
