You’ll know what’s coming here – but some of these Hed Kandi compilations are like snuggling up in your favourite dressing gown, and this one’s no exception. That’s not to say it’s lazily programmed, as it isn’t – the opening 4 Hero track ‘Morning Child’ puts that accusation to bed straight away. At turns soulful (Andy Caldwell), funky (D’Stephanie), bright and breezy (Peter, Bjorn & John) or blissfully far out (Todd Terje’s remix of Studio’s ‘Life’s A Beach’), it’s a nicely imaginative selection of tracks that does its job well.
