Modeselektor’s first mix CD is the expected treasure trove of diversity and whoopee party fun which nods through hiphop, hits a nice acid plateau and gets mischievous pushing techno through their own personal blender. I might as well just rattle off some names [which are put together with vital spark and ingenuity]: Detroit Experiment, Spank Rock, Paul Kalkbrenner, James Holden, Burial, Clatterbox, Errorsmith, Mr Oizo, Bobby Peru, Nathan Fake andÉRadiohead? [That’s just me]. It’s a proper journey which stokes up further anticipation for their new album due in September. This is turning out to be one of the best mix-CD series in a very over-crowded market.
