We, the ones that have been in the music industry for more than a decade can clearly remember the times when it was essential to build up and work a record, until it dropped and became available to the masses. Nowadays instruments like marketing and promotion are being executed totally different thanks to thousands of records being released each and every week. A guy who thinks and still works like in the good old days is US star Dennis Ferrer, who isn’t at all going the way most producers go by releasing one or two tracks each week. He is able to bundle creativity and energy to come up with a tune once a while and he knows most of these tracks are game changers.
This time DF returns to Defected with the first single taken from his forthcoming album. The track features sweet vocals from Ben Westbeech, who himself had two top ten hits as a producer (Breach) in 2013 and is back in the booth as a singer – delivering an effortlessly infectious and uplifting vocal, which perfectly compliments Dennis’ customarily watertight production.
You’ll certainly not find many vocal productions, that match more perfectly with the deeper sound of now, than this. Kudos as well to Defected to let this timeless piece of music stand alone, in my opinion a big remix package is not necessary at all. Expect this being dropped everywhere during the next few months and on-a true masterpiece in the making!
