ADJ
DOPE ‘EAD ON A MOPED EP
TOUCHIN’ BASS

A veritable Touchin’ Bass veteran – his ‘Raw’ EP was third release – Andy Jaggers returns after DJing and recording all over to drop his strides and let fly with a big one. The four cuts are wired, sinister and vicious but expertly crafted. Or should that be wrenched from the poor machines entrails going on the opening ‘Smash Up’, which kicks off with what sounds like someone stomping on a guinea-pig before a sick B-boy groove-mutant piles in accompanied by ‘Blow Your Head’ noise and evil strings. ‘Nuva Beat’ continues the small mammal theme by starting with chattering robo-gophers before the beats crunch in, offset by eerie melodies. ‘Barhomet’ hops aboard a speedy electro-step veering on drum ‘n’ bass pebbledashed with sonic squits before ‘ADJ Wobbely Edit’ recalls the boom-monsters of 10 years ago while boasting a disorientating woozy momentum. Uncompromising, sick fun.
