CUT / COPY

MODULAR

Hailing from Melbourne, Cut / Copy is a three piece comprising of Dan Whitford (vocals/guitar/electronics), Tim Hoey (guitar) and Mitchell Scott (drums). Noticed with ‘Future’ in the wonderful Kitsuné Midnight comp last year, the Australians are now about to unleash their debut album ‘Bright Like Neon Love’ and here’s first excerpt ‘Saturdays’. The original’s disco edit offers a proper flashback to the heydays of funky synth pop (Haircut 100, Howard Jones even, 124 BPM). Remix-wise the mighty King Roc pumps things up in fine electrock fashion  (funky bass & guitar, trancey synths, 126) whilst Headman, the UK’s favourite Swiss, turns out another indie-dance rework that relies on little (bass, bleeps, cow bell) but his vivid imagination (126). Bonus track ‘B.A.B.Y.’ is a funky jam that starts body popping (115).
