DatA aka 22 year old David Guillon is spearheading a new wave of exciting French producers, and for ‘Rapture’ he’s called in the services of Sebastien Granger (Death From Above 1979), whose strung out vocals work a treat over the funky synth pop, giving ‘Rapture’ an edge that Gnarls Barkley would be proud of. The Pacific! Remix goes for more of a classic disco feel, and The Skywriters Remix takes an electronic percussive route. There’s a DatA album in the pipeline, watch this space.
