Art terrorists Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom delivered their critically acclaimed debut album ‘Days Of Mars’ late last year, and they’ve decided to lift the atmospheric ‘Relevee’ from it, complete with a load of very credible remixes. DFA are up first, taking ‘Releeve’ straight to the sparse & funky disco floor, mixing up a Dinosaur L ‘Go Bang’ percussive vibe, with Italo piano, subtle synths & distant vocals. Carl Craig concentrates on the main key machine riff, twisting & layering it, leading up to fat house beats with very melodramatic pads & tipped over the edge piano, building the tension all the way. Babyford brings the ‘Revelee EP’ to a close with a truly inspirational rework, as reverberating mothership bass pulses & throbs, firing off clicking rhythms into the ghostly atmosphere. Futuristic dance floor business for a very dark planet.
