Great Stuff records know a thing or two about German dance music, and this latest signing is no exception. With their inimitable sonic style, its a game of “strip electro-house” as E & C carve up the sonic spectrum with truly funky analogue bass, edits and acid wiggles and a decidedly edgy London-ish vocal. Phonique “ups the anti” further with more abstraction, before Deutsch & Albaner grab the reigns on the flip. Dirty, sexy and electro-tastic, they glue the vocal to a groove Tiefschwarz would be proud of. With a cough and a splutter their mix breaks down and kicks back in with more energy than a quadruple hit of viagra. Ooosh. The original and Phonique mixes sport enough obese acid to make a DJ moist down below. But it’s the heavy heavy monster sound of Deutsch & Albaner that is getting a hammering in my set.
