Throughout the nineties George Issakidis was one half of The Micronauts, an electronic project which is often referred to as the French Chemical Brothers. The band’s long split but the parisian’s now back with Republic Of Desire, his own imprint willing to explore similar art-school experiments. At 110 BPM ‘In Love’ goes for the old ‘slow house’ trick but fails to really make an impression. On ‘Midnight Drive’ Mike fares better with a spooky mix (‘ii’) that uneasily plods along as if it was coming from another dimension (124).
