The Touchin’ Bass SUBsidence compilation series continues with a side apiece from two formidably fresh talents. Peter ‘Manasyt’ Tassev hails from Bulgaria but lives in Detroit. Touchin’ Bass electro is never light and fluffy but this pair are plain scary, claustrophobic and every other adjective to do with EVIL. It’s also brilliant. The bass alone on ‘Clandestine’ sounds like a huge corroding post-holocaust worm. On the other side, Sync 24 – aka Phil Bolland of Cultek – is no laughing matter either. ‘The Warg’ and ‘I Don’t Know’ are wired, overcast and blessed with mega analogue flatulence. Fear-inducing but fearless tackle.
