Ask any DJ worth his salt, he’ll tell you the true underground anthem of the year is not Fedde Le Grand but Mason’s ‘Exceeder’. Much like Tiga’s remix of Tomas Anderson’s ‘Washing Up’ or Alter Ego’s ‘Rocker’ did at their peak, this amazing machine-gun of a track truly captures the current state of electro for splendidly blending funk groove and ravey energy as only the Dutch do so well. After shaking clubland all summer, the third release of this young DJ (also a talented trained musician) has turned him into hot property. Now in the hands of the MoS dance machine and with the addition of vocals from Princess Superstar’s 2005 biggie ‘Perfect’, it’s time for this mash-up to go all the way, it well deserves to.
