No obvious reference to any terminating cyborgs here, although Ortzroka’s retro-future groove does sound like it’s coming via satellite from some future acid house party. Plenty of 303 sizzles, sweeping pads and a hefty electro groove with a monstrous bass ensnare the listener from the offset. Some of the breakdowns do break the groove slightly, but that’s forgivable. In addition, there’s plenty of remixes to bolster the package. Special mention for Leon Roberts first remix outing in four years, a splendid late night affair circa that classic Dave Angel style tech-funk sound, happy to allow the tension to build and build. And then build some more. A blisteringly cool package. Get it.
