The original (and best mix) starts off as an introspective ambient ripple that reaches inspiring heights, maybe not quite in the same league as Klong!’s famous ‘Mandate My Ass’ by Le Dust Sucker but definitely as off-the-wall and striking. The grand, dramatic bastard offspring of Kraftwerk and Richard James, ‘Missing’ proves that the coldest of tracks can also move you. Ilar’s own re-rub takes the stripped-down clonky route, yes those electronic insects are at work again. Bern aka Frenchman Laurent Bernonville combines the esoteric feel of the track to the current minimal sound and turns out a relaxing, evocative rendition. There’s no question this is music to escape with.
