‘Lunacy’ is the debut release through EMI for London’s Radar, a four piece outfit, that like to put a skank in their step. When you first hear ‘Lunacy’ America’s Eels spring to mind, with very well done moody band trip hop, but then the chorus sees Radar go on a harmonised Beta Band tip, with a smattering of Nightmares On Wax atmospherics thrown in for good measure. On the flip you’ll find ‘Million’, where Radar doff a polite cap to The Specials. Which all in all adds up to some nice catchy pop, that’ll also do the rounds in the chill out zones.
