REBEL H. STANLEY VS ABC
NOT ENOUGH TEARS
WHITE

’The Lexicon Of Love’, ABC’s debut album produced by the one and only Trevor Horn, is a white funk masterpiece that’s not aged much (compared to say early Spandau Ballet’s recordings). As this housey re-rub testifies ‘Tears Are Not Enough’ (arguably their best song) still sounds as glamorous and racey as it did in the early eighties (127 BPM). On the side of his Coburn project Pete Martin (also known as Slide) is churning out 4/4 reworks of famous rock songs (The Hives, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix etc); he gets to grips here with one of the fab four’s finest moment.
