Like some kind of American answer to Ed Laliq, Nat Rabb is San Serac, a new character in the Output stable. The original vocal & dub mixes of ‘Tyrant’ (Blade Runner nod) are deliciously old-fashioned. Rolling on a laidback groove, all ‘Danceteria perc-ed up’ by the Linn drum, this unusual electro-pop song and its stylish vocals stand out. The Stranger remix opts for a spooky feel, an experimental vibe that’s still musical and entertaining. Polygamy Boys go further back in time (and in pop) with a nice 4/4 take on Yello.
