Taken from “Any Minute Now”, Soulwaxs excellent current album, “NY Excuse” is blowin up big time, & with its hooky riffs, driving beats & shouty anthemic vocals care of DFAs Nancy Whang, this comes as no surprise. On the remix front, theres the fantastic “NY Lipps”, which marries “NY Excuse” with Lipps Incs disco classic “Funky Town”, which has to be heard to be believed, one of the best mash ups Ive ever heard, thisll definitely make you flipntrip. Soulwax also supply a “Nite Version”. Meanwhile DFA get to grips with “Another Excuse”, which has got plenty of familier acid house moments flying around the dirty low slung groove. You can never have Too Many DJs when they are this good.
