Every bedroom DJs in this country will know Spektrum for the Tiefschwarz mixes of ‘Kinda New’, which literally turned hundreds overnight into electro-prog. That’s not to say the masters of ‘wonk funk’ are about to change their tune though, the east London band still cherishes loose, live grooves and extravagant tales, they just get DJs to turn out proper club mixes (Greg Wilson, Ed Laliq, Secret Sundaze’s James Priestley…).
