STEREO TOTAL
DO THE BAMBI REMIXES
DISKO B, GERMANY

The synthy electro-pop of Stereo Total has always been a step away from the main dancefloor. Here top notch remixers du jour give their blessing to tracks from recent album ‘Do The Bambi’. Gomma’s Munk turn ‘Troglodyten’ into the finest stoned funk (think a modern day Kraftwerk, 124 BPM). Vredus aka Commercial Breakup get to grips with the Serge Gainsbourg sounding   ‘Das Erste Mal’ (126) but it’s Kompakt’s Justus Köhncke – he who hardly ever fails – who does best this time with a delicate and mesmerising workout of the same enchanting track (Style Council in gritty, druggy electro-house fashion? 121). After various solo projects (Grom, Christian Kreuz), the two guys behind the ‘I Wanna Be Your Dog’ cover – which helped break electroclash in europe – are back under their original Dakar & Grinser monikers for ’25 Reptile’, a dirty after-hours electro-house vocal track (125 BPM).
