X-Press 2’s new album ‘Makeshift Feelgood’ is finally ready, and this is the second taster of what’s to come. In it’s original form ‘Kill 100’ is Rocky, Diesel & Ashley really pushing the boat out, drafting in Rob Harvey from The Music for vocal duties, singing over smacked out layering distant synths, and low in the mix house rhythms, which all adds up to a certain Underworld meets Radiohead meets Depeche Mode vibe, giving ‘Kill 100’ a very out there feel. Well done chaps. Carl Craig delivers an epic remix of the techno variety, as he gives ‘Kill 100’ the peak time club treatment, using percolating synth riffs that get tweaked and battered with cymbal crashes, while Rob Harvey‚s vocal turns in on itself as it moves around the mix. All the Carl Craig bed wetters are gonna love this. ‘Makeshift Feelgood’ is due on 11th September – hold on tight.
