YOUNG PARISIANS
OBSESSION
TOKYO RECORDINGS

Trying to recreate Giorgio Moroder’s gorgeous proto-electro disco sound has been done to death often missing the point amidst sequencer-overlode that a big part was also down to the breathy, sensual vibe. Young Parisians – a side project of Solarstone’s Rich and Andy – works because it is a good cover of Animotion’s great 80s electro-pop classic done with care and attention. The Eskobar and Vito remix stirs it up for the dancefloor but the Original is where the project’s quality shines through, while the S.S.E. ’83 version is back to NY electro-pop with synth-squiggles.
