If you like your deep house with an indie twist and a razor sharp edge, Affkt’s ‘Lost’ will be right up your strasse. Thomas Gandey always delivers in the whispered vocal sleaze department and here are two tracks to tittilate and tease you to the nearest speaker corner. ‘Boss’ is a throbbing headnodder with a bouncing guitar riff and looped whispered chorussed vocals. ‘Lost’ is an emo jangl guitar psyche twister that feels like 1985 in 2014’s clothes. Wehbba jacks it up with a thudding kick, slippery heart beat percussion and dog whistle effects, whilst Christoph pours a growling, vibrating bass and waves of synths into the mix for a dark introspective rewiring. One for rainy days and shivery, cold nights.
