Breach – Artis EP – (Aus Music)

Take your seat on the African Queen for ‘Artis’ Breach’s new musical safari. In ‘Artis’, there are birds and monkeys in those branches, lions and tigers roaring in the undergrowth and watch your tech house step for the odd slithering, snaking bassline – it could have your toes if you’re not careful. ‘Ode Oshi’ is a rolling percussive excursion that will have you shaking your grass skirt and coral accessories to the hi-hats, limbo-ing under the swinging bassline and stamping in time to the beat – it’s deep, thoughtful and perfect for deep house players like Gilles Peterson and Osunlade / Yoruba. ‘This One’s For You Know who You Were’ is a twinkling synth star in the night sky – pulsing, glowing and visible with the naked eye from earth. It bounces around in the rhythmic ether like a gas atom in a heated bell jar, building up a fat tail that slaps you with its funky cosmic groove. Another success story from Breach.
