Nile Rodgers delivers more of that funky old school disco groove that made Daft Punk and Pharrell sound so fresh. ‘Back In The Old School’ has a whistle loop that’ll reel you in like today’s catch and the groove is so smooth it would make a baby’s bottom feel wrinkly. It’s fun, happy music that’ll be leaping out of speakers from Spring break to the supermarket. ‘I’ll Be There’ is the deeper Chic reincarnation – with references to the lyrics in the lyrics and tons of lyrics too plus that magical Rodgers guitar strum and a sneaky sax riff underpinning it all. It’s a heavy rotation daytime radio record and a summer picnic soundtrack so why not break out the cava, flip flops and sunglasses in celebration.
