Dave Seaman and Steve Parry’s Selador records return again with a full release for ‘Music Makes the body’ from Chris Fortier, which was one of the twelve tracks on the label’s huge ADE sampler back in August. The original has been given the dub treatment here from Fortier, losing the immediacy of the vocal for a trackier feel that retains a lot of the energy. I’m personally probably still leaning towards the original which is still fresh, but it certainly adds a different weapon for various points at your set.
Remix wise two big names step up, with Crosstown rebels’ hip duo him_self_her and Brazilian Wehbba both adding two very different efforts. The former keep the housey vibe on point, adding a little more swing and groove to proceedings for a record that is cool enough to hit Summer 2014 perfectly on trend. Wehbba’s cut is the standout to these ears though, brilliantly taking the track into darker territory with a result that will sound perfect for those 3am moments on the bigger Ibizan dance floors.
