By now you know the deal with Soul Clap Records – the label run by the eponymous Boston duo deals in truly creamy, deep, slow motion and seductive sounds from the world of funk, house and disco. Here they offer up a sumptuous four track EP from Davis with a host of guests. This Time With You opens things up with a pixelated brew of synths that are immediately soul infused and pool side in vibe. Lazy kicks tumble below with icy hi hats up top and rich bass underpinning it all. Dreamy, reverb rich vocals pass life a cool breeze up top and it really is a fine affair. This Time With You as remixed by Inkwell is a slightly more broken beat affair with punchy drums making for a perfectly lumpy ride. Ethnic then gets a little more dance floor facing with rubbery drums and jumbled percussion rolling over a nice deep groove. Sleigh bells and fantastic flute lines bring a mix of both summery and wintery vibes and agin the result is fantastic. Finally, Juno Ballad is an exercise in spaced out synth lines and cosmic curveballs that really gets under your skin and has you humming along. As such, this is an excellent EP with lots on offer for everyone.
