Not long after their conceptual EP release of ‘Moonwalk’, Slipstone Records are back with another exciting release, ‘Escapism’. The focus this time is on another young producer who goes by the name Einerlei. First track on the EP ‘ Sind Wir Echt Frei?’ has a mysterious and eerie intro, which then explodes into life with an energetic bass and creative synth usage. It’s a very melodic techno track. Following on from that we have ‘Berg’, which has a heavier techno feel to it whilst the synths are still strong and are the dominant power on the track. Third track is again on the mysterious side with intriguing water dripping sample and heavy drawn out synth usage to really bring out the suspense from the start. This track for me is the one that most accentuates the escapism theme for the EP the best. Final track is the remix by Kesper, who was in charge of Slipstones first release, and straight away the snare drum bass gives the track a real energy and is a sure fire hit on any dance floor no doubt. Overall a great follow up to their first release and a promising future looks on the cards for this label.
