Koletzki & Schwind – She Wants Acid (Stil vor Talent)

Stil vor Talent label head Oliver Koletzki has long resided over a period that’s seen the label grow to become one of the contemporary dance scene’s more consistent purveyors of top-notch house. As is often the case in these instances, he’s now lending a helping hand to upcoming talent, with Niko Schwind joining him here on production duties on the quite exceptional ‘She Wants Acid’ EP. A joyous and scrupulously produced effort, this release truly is a joy to behold and will without doubt go down a treat in the club. First up we have ‘She Wants Acid’ itself. Uncontrollable, uncompromising and full of devilish abandonment, it’s a fine exercise in how to merge vintage vocal refrains with modern-day aesthetics. Punchy and with a renowned vocal line that you’re sure to recognise, this one will definitely cause a few interested looks on the dancefloor. Dark, trippy and murky, it’d brilliantly find a home in the likes of Circoloco at DC10. Next up we have ‘Fake Return’, which offers further ample proof of the boys’ desire for unconventional pastures. Again, it’s spooky and restless, but it’s all offset by a spiky and firm amalgamation of beats that help bring it to a higher level. Seeing us out then is ‘Sydney’, a melodic and charming track which closes out an exceptional offering. A-class fare from the Koletzki & Schwind duo.
