Well it’s that time of year again, and everyone that’s got an interest in dance music is talking about the annual Winter Music Conference held in Miami. All the record labels put together samplers of their forthcoming releases, handing them out with a fair amount of boozing ‘n‚ schmoozing, all vying for that future summer anthem. Well this year Defected have delivered an outstanding 8 cuts on their sampler, including Warren Clarke’s mix, of Kathy Brown’s cover of the disco classic ‘Get Another Love’, which is done with taste, making it a classy re-work that oozes soul. Other highlights include more disco antics with Dim’s T.S.O.P. Version of ‘The Way You Love Me’ courtesy of Ron Hall & The MuthaFunkrers Featuring Mark Evans. The bumping gospel knees up of ‘He Is’ from Copyright Featuring Song Williamson will have ‚em rockin‚ in the aisle, and Lifelike & Kris Menace’s big tune from last year ‘Discopolis’ gets remixed by Chris Lake. Now that’s just for starters, and it’s only the half of it. Defected have got a big year lined up.
