Great EP from Monkey Safari who confound your expectations by sounding strangely familiar, yet clearly original all at the very same time. Their combination of hot breakbeat driven rhythms alongside reassuringly melodic vocoder voices on the title track is refreshing and most definitely funky. A first rate remix from Super Flu provides a fresh twist on the drums aided by powerful bass and atmospheric keys – watch out for the hypnotic piano towards the end. Second track, ‘Time’ completes feeling that bit deeper and again combines a curious array of sounds that suggest their own intriguing time and space.
