It takes something to present what is essentially a drum track and yet make it sound compelling containing its own strange addictive sense of melody. But that’s exactly what the always excellent PBR Streetgang have achieved with this latest for the long standing 2020 Vision imprint. Driven along by distinctive, rolling tom-tom’s plus the occasional effect and vocal touch this all combines into something spectacular in its own right. Second track, ‘Return To Page One’ conversely adds Electro styled drums to early Chicago sounding synths for a trip down memory lane that still feels exciting to relive. Tuff City Kids supply two versions with the euro-disco syncopation of their Disco Mix feeling irresistible, leaving their Electro remix to get nervous and shimmer.
