Reminiscent of DJ Pierre’s 90’s looped intensity comes this return to his own label from Riva Starr. The title track will transport you back to the era of uplifting, heavy-duty grooves that came complete with soulful vocal refrains but which also remained resolutely underground – it even has a short but sweet rolling snare drum in the breakdown! ‘I Believe in You’ sounds even more killer than that played loud. The temptingly titled ‘Velvet Zone’ follows with a tougher, funkier rhythm served up over more hot vocal samples to complete this irresistible EP.
