Friday Fox enlist South Africa’s young Rudi Botha to the label with his laid back 4 track, ‘Blue EP’, drenched in organic, deep and jazzy vibes. ‘Blue’ sees Christian B & Lavvy Levan mould a UK deep house groove, teased with vocal hooks and a killer bass to compliment Rudi’s delicious orchestration. ‘City Jazz’ is a minimal stripped down cut with soothing keys. Taking things a little moodier, ‘Downtown Deep’ comes with contrasting pads, sax and a brooding hypnotic bass. ‘Theatrical’ is an experimental number made up of freestyle breezy vibes, contrasted with a darker minimal electronic groove. A very nice debut indeed from this Jo’burg young ‘un.
